Dear Parents and Children,
I hope you are looking forward to an exciting year! In Year 3, your child will continue to develop their skills and knowledge in a fun and creative way through ARCS Curriculum. We will study new topics in History and Geography.
In History we will look at changes to Britain from Stone Age to Iron Age and the Roman Empire and its impact on Britain.
In Geography we will know and locate the capital cities in the UK and go further afield and look at similarities and differences between Italy and Norway.
Our class routine is as follows:
Library sessions will take place every Friday morning. Children will have the opportunity to borrow books from the school library.
Children will be given a reading book and will be listened to on a weekly basis. Please support your child with their reading and spend ten minutes a day reading of an evening time. Please return books on a Wednesday.
Our P.E. lessons take place on a Wednesday. Please make sure your child wears a red or white t shirt and red or black shorts. Children can wear a tracksuit over their kits as the weather cools.
Every Friday children will be given spellings to learn, ready for next Friday’s spelling test. We will also test x tables on a regular basis to assess which x tables your child will need to focus on.
Finally, please ensure children’s names are written inside their jumpers; our lost property box fills up rapidly if we can’t reunite children with their missing jumpers or cardigans!
Thank you for your support,
Mrs Brophy, Ms Duffin and Mrs Verinder.
