Dear Parents and Children,
I hope you are looking forward to an exciting year!
In Year 3, your child will continue to develop their skills and knowledge in a fun and creative way through ARCS Curriculum. We will study new topics in History and Geography.
In History we will look at changes to Britain from Stone Age to Iron Age and the Roman Empire and its impact on Britain.
In Geography we will look at Rainforests, Europe and India.
Our class routine is as follows:
Library Books
Library sessions will take place every Wednesday afternoon. Children will have the opportunity to borrow books from the school library. Please return them every Tuesday.
Reading Books
Children will be given a reading book and will be listened to on a weekly basis, either individually or in a guided group. Please support your child with their reading and spend ten minutes a day reading of an evening time. Please return books on a Wednesday.
P.E. Lessons
Our P.E. lessons take place on a Tuesday. Please make sure your child wears their uniform and brings in their P.E. kit. They need to wears a red t shirt and black shorts. Children can wear a tracksuit over their kits when the weather is cool.
Homework
Every Friday children will be given spellings to learn, ready for next Friday’s spelling test. We will also test times tables on a regular basis to assess which tables your child will need to focus on. We use ‘Spelling Frame’ to support learning.
Finally, please ensure children’s names are written inside their jumpers; our the lost property box fills up rapidly if we can’t reunite children with their missing jumpers or cardigans!
Thank you for your support,
Mrs McCleary, Mrs Zullo, Mrs Reid and Mrs McNarmara and Mrs Massie 😊
