Dear Parents and Children,
I hope you are looking forward to an exciting year! In Owls your child will continue to develop their skills and knowledge in a fun and creative way through ARCS Curriculum. You can find out what we’ll be learning, and when, by looking at the Curriculum section of the website.
Our class routine is as follows:
Library Books
Library sessions will take place every Wednesday afternoon. Children will have the opportunity to borrow books from the school library. Please return library books on Wednesday.
Reading Books
Children are listened to on a weekly basis in school and their reading books will be changed when they have finished their current book. Please keep children’s books in their bags so they can read in school with Owls staff.
P.E. Lessons
Our P.E. lessons take place on Wednesdays. Children should bring red shorts and a red or white t-shirt to wear for P.E. They can keep this in a separate bag in school, or take it home after P.E.
Homework
Every Friday, children will be given 10 spellings to learn, ready for next Friday’s spelling test and times-tables will also be introduced. By the time children leave Owls, they must be fluent with their 2x, 5x and 10x times-tables. Spellings and times-tables will be assigned on Seesaw, so please keep checking regularly.
Finally, please ensure children’s names are written inside their jumpers; our lost property box fills up rapidly if we can’t reunite children with their missing jumpers or cardigans!
Thank you for your support,
Mr Cahill and the Owls team
