Developing a ‘Business Brain’ in our children is an important aspect for a 21^st century learner. We have developed learning opportunities for the children as they progress through the school, in order to equip them with relevant entrepreneurial knowledge, skills and attitudes.

Our group of Business partners play an important role in delivering and enhancing this programme.

At Evelyn CP School we have formed strong links with community and business partners. We have hosted breakfast seminars sharing our school vision, curriculum and teaching and learning activities which are unique to Evelyn.

In turn, our business partners have offered their expertise and guidance in relation to wider world opportunities.

During Career’s Day, our business partners talked to children regarding future dream jobs, aspirations and occupations. Children enjoyed the variety of jobs and workplaces represented, such as:

Dragon’s Den
Each year our Year 6 class use business enterprise skills to establish a ‘start-up’ company and sell products before sharing their results with our Dragons. Our Dragons (business partners) then judge the companies and even buy one to represent the school. This exciting and innovative approach to the teaching and learning of business in Primary Schools has been highly commended and has impacted positively on all of our children.
