Governor Class/Subject Links

Each class will be assigned a Class Link Governor. This Governor will have responsibility to keep informed about activities and events special to the identified class. This may take the form of :

  • Access to the class web page on the school site.
  • Visits to the class by invitation for special events, eg. assemblies
  • Communication with the class by letter/e-mail from the class/pupils and appropriate reply from Governor.
  • Keeping up to date with termly class/school newsletter

Aims

  • The main aim is for governors to get to know the school - what is learnt from visiting the school should add to what the governing body as a whole knows about the school, its staff, needs, priorities, strengths and weaknesses.
  • To monitor and assess the priorities as outlined in the school improvement plan.
  • To demonstrate to staff that responsibilities are taken seriously and governors are interested in what they do and what takes place in the classroom.
  • To build and enhance knowledge and relationships between staff, pupils and governors.

Responsible for reporting back to governors on the provision, implementation and operation of Special Educational needs in the school.

Maths Governor:   Mr C. Pearse

Responsible for reporting back to governors on developments in Maths.

English Governor:   Mrs C. Ball

Responsible for reporting back to governors on the developments in English.

Science Governor: Mrs V. Harford

Responsible for rep orting back to governors on the developments in Science.

Child Protection/Safeguarding Governor (inc. online safety): Mr M. Kokolay

Responsible for monitoring the school’s Child Protection Policy and reporting back to the governing body.
